Over 300 Young Dancers Shine at Dance Giants 2026

 

On Friday 26th June 2026, the stage at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre came alive as over 300 children from across Haringey and Enfield showcased their incredible talent, confidence and passion through dance.

Originally, this year’s event was due to take place over two days, with four performances featuring 16 local schools. However, due to unforeseen extreme weather conditions, the show had to adapt at short notice. Instead, two fantastic performances took place on Friday 26th June, bringing together 13 schools for an unforgettable day of celebration.

The day began with the first cast arriving at 9:30am, full of excitement as they prepared for their 12pm performance. The second cast then arrived at 11:30am, ahead of their 2pm show, ready to take to the stage with the same enthusiasm and energy.

Throughout both performances, parents, carers, teachers and fellow students filled the audience, creating an atmosphere of encouragement and celebration. Every routine performed reflected the hard work, creativity and commitment the young people had shown throughout their year on the Dance Giants Programme, with performers delivering high-energy routines that had the audience cheering from start to finish.

We were delighted to receive an overwhelming amount of positive feedback from the audience, who praised the confidence, teamwork and talent demonstrated by every participating school. Despite the challenges posed by the weather, the determination of the schools, students, staff and volunteers ensured the event remained a huge success.

Dance Giants is about so much more than learning choreography. The programme supports young people’s physical and mental wellbeing by providing opportunities for creative expression, building confidence, developing resilience and encouraging positive relationships through dance and mentoring. The annual DG showcase is a celebration of everything participants achieve during the programme, both on and off the stage.
