Streetz Ahead Takes on Birmingham for the One Dance UK Awards!

On 24th January 2025, the Streetz Ahead team set off for an exciting trip to Birmingham to attend the One Dance UK Awards! We were honoured to be nominated and shortlisted for the Health and Well-being in Dance award—our first time being recognised at this prestigious event.

The Journey & Team Bonding

Our trip began at London Euston, where we made the most of the 2.5-hour train ride with team-building games and a lively round of bingo. Between laughter, competition, and a shared sense of excitement, the time flew by as we bonded as a team.

When we arrived in Birmingham, we took a short walk to explore the city before heading back to the hotel for a quick transformation. Dressed to impress, we were ready to represent Streetz Ahead at one of the biggest nights in the dance industry.

The Awards Night

The evening started with a warm welcome—glasses of prosecco in hand and a chance to meet inspiring people from across the dance world. The show opened with a beautiful cultural dance performance, setting the tone for a night filled with heartfelt speeches, incredible performances, and shared passion for dance.

As we enjoyed a delicious dinner and dessert, we connected with fellow artists and organisations, each with their own inspiring story. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, and it was amazing to be surrounded by so many people dedicated to making a difference through dance.

Winners in Our Own Way

When our category was announced, we held our breath. Though we didn’t win, we still felt incredibly proud—being one of just three organisations shortlisted in the entire UK was a huge honour. This recognition is a testament to the impact of our work, and it’s only the beginning.

We left Birmingham feeling inspired, motivated, and more determined than ever. This is just the start of bigger things to come for Streetz Ahead!
