Gladesmore Secondary School Dances with Pride for Black History Month

Gladesmore Secondary School, one of three secondary schools participating in our Dance Giants programme, showcased their incredible dedication and teamwork during two powerful performances for their Black History Month Assemblies.

On 14th November 2024, after just five rehearsals, the students confidently took to the stage, performing their Dance Giants routine for Years 7, 8, and 9. Despite the short preparation time, they worked tirelessly to learn, refine, and perfect their routine under the guidance of their passionate dance teacher, Francesco. The students not only showcased their growing dance skills but also demonstrated teamwork, resilience, and the confidence to perform in front of their entire school community.

The following day, on 15th November, the team took their performance to the next level, storming the stage once again—this time for Years 10 and 11. The energy and excitement were undeniable, and the hard work of each student shone through. To capture this special moment, Streetz Ahead’s professional cameraman was present, ensuring their talent and effort were documented in full glory.

After their final performance, the group had the chance to reflect on their journey so far. Backstage interviews provided an opportunity for the students to share their experiences, talk about their growth, and celebrate their progress in the Dance Giants programme. It was inspiring to hear how far they’d come in such a short time, both as individuals and as a team.

The Gladesmore students’ success in the Dance Giants programme is a testament to their hard work, determination, and creativity. We couldn’t be prouder of their achievements and can’t wait to see what they accomplish next!

Well done to Francesco and the Gladesmore team for making these Black History Month Assemblies unforgettable. Keep dancing and keep inspiring!
