Dance Giants Update
Dance Giants is a street and break dance mentoring programme for children aged between 9 – 14 years old. The Dance Giants and Mentors act as role models to the young people and they share their own experiences of how the arts helped them overcome difficulties to make a success of their own lives.
Weekly activity sessions for the past few months involve high intensity breakdance and street dance training. Group mentoring sessions build a toolbox of coping strategies and creative work that develop confidence and self-esteem. We’ve established our project and received fantastic reviews from schools in Tottenham. E.g. Devonshire Hills, Ferry Lane, Holy Trinity, Lea Valley, Risley Avenue Primary school, Seven sisters, St Ann’s, St Paul’s & All Hallows and St Micheal’s. The young people are working towards an end of year production at The Bernie Grant Arts Centre in 2022 to celebrate their achievements and progression.
