Jade & The Beanstalk: Meet the Cast
A powerful new hip hop theatre production from Streetz Ahead
This October, Streetz Ahead is proud to present Jade & the Beanstalk, an original hip hop theatre production coming to the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Tottenham.
At the heart of Jade & the Beanstalk is a family finding their way through change and loss. Through Jade’s extraordinary imagination, their story unfolds with humour, heart and energy, blending hip hop, rap, animation and dance theatre to explore grief, family relationships, resilience and hope.
Created for young people, families and schools, the production uses the power of movement, music and storytelling to open up important conversations while delivering an exciting and uplifting theatrical experience.
Meet the Cast
Nethra Menon as Jade

Nethra is an Indian dancer based in London and a graduate of The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
Her theatre credits include Cabaret in the West End, Message in a Bottle on its North American tour, The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at the Royal Opera House and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Dream Ballets: A Triple Bill.
Her commercial credits include performances with SAULT, Cleo Sol, Zara Larsson and Eva Lazarus.
Driven by a passion for storytelling through movement, Nethra hopes to tell meaningful stories that resonate with audiences and leave a lasting impact.
Dani Harris-Walters as Dad

Dani is a dance artist, choreographer, presenter, teacher and DJ, graduating from the University of East London with a BA (Hons) in Dance: Urban Practice.
An experienced and respected figure within the industry, Dani loves experimenting with movement to create his own unique dance language. He is the founder of DHW, creating accessible and entertaining hip hop theatre work.
His credits include Avant Garde Dance, Boy Blue, Breakin’ Convention, Edem Wornoo, Far From The Norm, G at the Royal Court, Jeanefer Jean-Charles, Joseph Toonga, Kloe Dean, Laura Mvula, Little Simz, SAULT and the London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
Sherona Knight as Mum

Sherona Knight is a London-based vocalist, actor, dancer and educator. She trained at Sylvia Young Theatre School and Anna Scher Theatre and is currently a Professor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
Sherona toured internationally as a backing vocalist for Estelle, performing on shows alongside John Legend, the Black Eyed Peas and James Brown.
As a commercial dancer, she has performed alongside artists including Beyoncé, Whitney Houston, Wyclef Jean, Usher and S Club 7.
Her theatre career includes a longstanding relationship with ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company, including the original West End production of Some Like It Hip Hop from 2011–2013. She later returned as a featured vocalist for ZooNation’s 20th-anniversary production.
Meet the Creative Team
Elijah Smith – Director

Elijah Smith is a professional dance artist from Hackney, rooted in the UK hip hop dance scene.
He has worked with Boy Blue and ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company, as well as being associated with Britain’s Got Talent finalists Flawless and Company DHW.
His credits include Boy Blue’s Cycles tour (2026), ZooNation’s Ebony Scrooge (2025/26) and The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party (2024), The Dream Ballet Triple Bill at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre (2025), and All Points East with SALUT.
Elijah is also an Associate Artist with ZooNation Youth Company and previously assisted in the creation of hip hop theatre work presented at the Royal Opera House in 2023.
Sebastian Harry – Assistant Director, Music Creator & Producer

Sebastian Harry is a professional hip hop dance artist, choreographer, teacher, music producer and composer.
Beginning his professional career in the West End production of Matilda the Musical, Sebastian later trained at The BRIT School, ZooNation Youth Company and the National Youth Dance Company.
His performance credits include Little Simz, ZooNation and Far From The Norm, including Botis Seva’s BLKDOG. Passionate about inspiring young dancers, Sebastian has taught with Sadler’s Wells East, The BRIT School and DanceEast.
For Jade & the Beanstalk, Sebastian is Assistant Director, Music Creator and Producer, helping to bring Jade’s world to life through an original hip hop soundscape.
