Hip Hop to K-Pop: Back by Popular Demand at Bernie Grant Arts Centre

Streetz Ahead is excited to return to Bernie Grant Arts Centre this half term with another high-energy dance camp designed to keep young people moving, creative, and inspired. Following the success of our recent programme at BGAC, this upcoming camp promises even more opportunities for children and young people to learn, create, and shine in a fun and supportive environment.
Across the three days, participants will explore the history of K-pop and its deep connections to hip hop and Black culture, while developing confidence, teamwork, creativity, and performance skills. Through dance, spoken word, and movement, young people will gain a deeper understanding of how music and culture continue to influence dance styles around the world today.
Throughout the camp, participants will:
- Learn high-energy street dance styles
- Explore the cultural roots and global influence of K-pop music
- Develop their own dance routines, spoken word, and performance pieces
- Build confidence, teamwork, and self-expression in a supportive environment
Open to children aged 7+, the programme will finish with a vibrant end-of-week showcase where participants can perform for family and friends, celebrating everything they have created and achieved throughout the camp.
For over 30 years, Streetz Ahead has empowered young people through dance, mentoring, and the creative arts, creating inclusive spaces where every child can thrive, express themselves, and discover their potential.
