Supporting Children’s Wellbeing Through Staff Training at Welbourne Primary School

On 5th January, we had the pleasure of delivering staff training at Welbourne Primary School, led by Will, our Schools Development Officer.

The session brought together 64 members of staff for an engaging and practical exploration of the Zones of Regulation and how this framework can be effectively applied within a school environment. The training focused on helping staff better understand children’s emotional states, respond with empathy, and support self-regulation in everyday classroom and school settings.

By equipping teachers and support staff with the right tools, language, and strategies, the session aimed to strengthen the school’s approach to children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing. The Zones of Regulation provide a shared framework that helps children recognise and communicate how they are feeling, while enabling adults to respond consistently and compassionately.

This training is part of our wider commitment to supporting schools in creating safe, inclusive, and understanding spaces where every child feels supported. Empowering the whole school community with knowledge and confidence is key to fostering positive wellbeing outcomes and ensuring that children can thrive both emotionally and academically.

We’re proud to work alongside Welbourne Primary School as they continue to prioritise wellbeing and invest in the development of their staff for the benefit of their pupils.
