Our Dance Giants Shine in Shocka’s Powerful “Unite” Music Video!

On Saturday 11th October, our Streetz Ahead Dance Giants had an unforgettable experience collaborating with Shocka, a Tottenham-based rapper and passionate mental health advocate, on the music video for his inspiring track “Unite.”

From the very start, the day was filled with excitement, creativity, and a strong sense of community. Having already worked alongside Shocka during Mental Health Week, where we co-led an assembly on mental wellbeing and unity, it was amazing to continue that message through dance and music — bringing young people together through positivity and purpose.

Highlights from the Day

In preparation for the shoot, our young dancers attended two rehearsals with Stav, our Dance Giants Coordinator, and Taylor, our Head of Dance. Together, they choreographed and directed dynamic movement pieces that reflected the spirit of the song.

When the children arrived on set at 10am, their excitement was contagious. One of the most memorable moments came when the sun broke through the clouds during a group scene — everyone, including Shocka and Pimms Brooke, the singer featured on the track, began dancing and singing together. It was a powerful reminder of what community really looks like: joy, connection, and togetherness.

Another special highlight was being able to offer our young people such an incredible opportunity — to take part in a professional music video, work alongside inspiring artists, and experience the results of their hard work, dedication, and resilience. At Streetz Ahead, we believe these qualities are what truly create success, both on and off the stage.

We were also so proud to see one of our very own young dancers take on the role of the younger version of Shocka in the video — a moment that perfectly captured the song’s message of growth, hope, and self-belief.

Why This Project Matters

This collaboration went far beyond performance — it was a celebration of mental health awareness, youth empowerment, and the power of creativity to connect people. Through this project, our young dancers learned the value of teamwork, expression, and resilience, while seeing how the arts can be a positive force for change in their community.

Looking Ahead

The “Unite” music video reminds us all of the strength found in community, creativity, and perseverance. We’re incredibly proud of our young dancers for giving their all and representing Streetz Ahead with such enthusiasm and heart.

We can’t wait to continue creating opportunities that inspire, empower, and bring people together — one project, one performance, and one dance at a time.
