Women of the World: Day of the Girl at The London Eye

What an inspiring day! Elizabeth Lahav and Kimberley Marshall from Streetz Ahead were honoured to take part in the WOW – Women of the World “Day of the Girl” event on The London Eye, celebrating girls’ rights and potential as part of the global UN initiative for International Day of the Girl.

The event brought together mentors from across London to take part in WOW’s Speed Mentoring Programme, offering guidance and encouragement to teenage students from local schools. It was a powerful celebration of connection, empowerment, and future possibilities.

This year, Penny Lancaster personally invited Elizabeth and Kimberley to join her at the event, recognising their ongoing commitment to supporting young people through movement, wellbeing, and creative expression. Mentors and mentees gathered first at County Hall before stepping into the iconic pods of the London Eye for meaningful mentoring conversations high above the city.

Elizabeth shared insights drawn from her work with Streetz Ahead and her experience as a Dance Movement Psychotherapist, encouraging young people to listen to their bodies, trust their creativity, and embrace their individuality. Both Elizabeth and Kimberley described the day as uplifting and unforgettable — a celebration of how community and mentorship can truly make a difference.

An extraordinary experience celebrating the power, confidence, and voices of young women.
