Streetz Ahead at the GLA Civil Society & Sports Away Day

 

On 13 November 2025, Streetz Ahead had the pleasure of leading a training session for one of our funders at the GLA Civil Society & Sports Away Day. It was a brilliant opportunity to showcase the powerful work their support helps us deliver within our communities.

We kicked off the session by introducing Streetz fit, our new fitness programme powered by silent disco headphones. At first, the group was understandably unsure about dancing in silence. But the moment the headphones went on and the music kicked in, the atmosphere completely transformed. Within seconds they were up on their feet, moving, laughing, and fully embracing the experience. The energy in the room was incredible to witness.

After the workout, we shifted into some of our core mentoring activities. These focused on going beyond surface level interactions and building deeper communication skills, compassion, leadership qualities, teamwork, and more. Participants engaged wholeheartedly, reflecting on how these values shape strong communities and confident young people.

By the end of the session, the team had gained a real insight into what a typical Streetz Ahead programme feels like; Dynamic, supportive, empowering, and full of positivity. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to experience firsthand how meaningful and impactful their funding is to the children, young people, families and establishments who access our services.

Overall, the day was a huge success, and we’re grateful for the chance to continue building strong partnerships and delivering life-changing experiences across London.
